Oxford University
Boat Club

Oxford University Boat Club was established in 1829 with the sole objective of winning The Boat Race. The annual race against Cambridge University is now one of the oldest and most famous sporting events, offering an unrivalled educational experience to the students who take part.

For the 2024 Boat Race men and women from both the openweight and lightweight squads rowed for the first time together under the one club, OUBC.

The Club's objective remains unchanged.

Like other clubs and societies at Oxford University, OUBC is officially run by the student Presidents who are elected on an annual basis. The Presidents are supported by the club's staff and coaching teams who are responsible for all aspects of training, coaching and crew selection.
