Quintin Head - 2016

OUWBC took a team of 18 to compete in Quintin Head on the Tideway last weekend, entering two eights in Women's Senior and Women's Elite. We were lucky enough this year for the 4.6km course to be run in the Boat Race direction from Hammersmith Bridge to just past Chiswick Bridge.

The Elite eight, coxed by Morgan Baynham-Williams and with president Maddy Badcott at 7 seat, had an excellent race, finishing as the fastest women's crew of the day. In doing so they also saw off competition from a University of London eight within their division.

The Senior eight also had a great racing experience, finishing 2nd in their division to a competitive Molesey BC eight and learning lessons in harnessing the balance between racing aggression and technical finesse.

It was an excellent experience for everyone to see how much potential is still available in both crews. A strong performance like this only serves to make the squad reach for greater goals and all time spent on the championship course prepares us better for March 27th.
